Dave Portnoy, 47, reveals CANCER scare as he appears on podcast with neck wound – but says being stung by bees was worse!

Dave Portnoy says he underwent a procedure to remove the cancerous birthmark from his neck after appearing on a Barstool’s BFFS Podcast with a large cut on his neck.

Portnoy, 47, was asked by co-host Brianna LaPaglia what happened to cause the cut on the lower left side of his neck.

“Do you have a scratch on your neck?” Portnoy was asked, to which he replied, “Yes, you’re the first to ask.”

“Are those stitches?” LaPaglia asked again, to which Portnoy simply said, “Yes, cancer. I beat it though.”

LaPaglia then asked Portnoy if this was because he had been in the sun all day and not worn sunscreen.

“Yes,” Portnoy replied. “That’s why I didn’t go to the Celtics game.”

“But it was actually cancer?” LaPaglia asked.

“Yes,” said Portnoy. ‘It’s not scary. I mean, it is, but it’s not. I’ll add it to my list. I have had a heart attack, cancer and been stung by bees, everything has been overcome. And it’s hard to complain, I was lying in the sun.

‘I’m starting to get myself under control. I went to a doctor, did something to the skin and they scraped it and one of them came back as cancer. I don’t know, there are 10 or 12 stitches in there.

‘There are stitches underneath, on top of it. It’s pretty bad**. Listen, you won’t hear me complaining about it.

“I don’t want to say, ‘Oh, I have cancer, feel sorry for me,’ but I wanted sympathy.” If you get cancer, that’s for the best. I didn’t even tell anyone I did it.

‘There is clearly serious cancer. Mine wasn’t. But I have the right to say that I have now survived cancer. It looks like I’ve been stabbed.’
