Dave Grohl claims a viral post in which he claims to be the child he fathered out of wedlock is fake.
The 55-year-old Foo Fighters hitmaker surprised fans when he revealed he had become a father to a baby girl outside of his union with wife Jordyn Blum.
And after an Instagram post claiming to be his newborn daughter, named Roxie Junie Grohl, went viral, a spokesperson for Dave TMZ that it is fake.
The post was first shared on Wednesday by user @valeriegreyston and shows her own hand holding a newborn baby, with a lengthy caption.
The caption read: ‘My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being your mother has already been the most incredible experience of my life.

“Every day I fall more in love with you and this new role. Your father was by my side throughout my pregnancy, making sure we were both well taken care of. I am so grateful for his love and support.
“I’m new to this whole baby mama thing, but I promise I’ll always do my best for you. As much as I want to share my joy with the world, I also need to protect our privacy at this time.
‘I’m glad everyone knows about you because you are such a special part of my life.
PS Roxie, every time I look at you, I see so much of your dad in your face – it’s like a little reflection of him, in a very small, beautiful way.
‘From the shape of your eyes to the way your nose crinkles when you smile, you’re truly a Grohl through and through.

This comes after it was reported that Dave had already hired a divorce attorney before confessing to his infidelity (the singer is pictured with his wife Jordyn in 2013)

In early August, Jordyn, who has been married to the rocker since 2003, may have hinted at marital troubles when she opted not to wear her engagement ring during a seemingly tense outing together in Los Angeles.
Although they were walking down the sidewalk together, Grohl and Blum looked very distant. He was smoking a cigarette and she was glued to her phone.
They kept a distance of several meters between them as they walked down the street in their all-black outfits.
It is not known whether the musician had already told his wife that he had cheated on her and impregnated another woman when the photos were taken on August 1.
A source said on Wednesday People that Grohl had hired a divorce attorney before his social media announcement.
This comes just a day after he revealed in a statement on Instagram that he had a daughter with an unknown woman.
The statement read: ‘I recently became the father of a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.
“I love my wife and my children, and I am committed to earning their trust and forgiveness. We are grateful for your attention to all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Grohl and Blum, 48, met in 2001 and have been married since 2003. They have three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
Blum previously worked as a model and TV producer.
Before the news broke, it appeared that the couple’s eldest child had deactivated her Instagram.
The rock star, who is often described as a “family man,” has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews over the years.
In 2007, Grohl told The Guardian: ‘[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] Violet is an anchor that keeps me from disappearing completely.’
Speaking to TIME in 2012, he said his family “changed everything I do.”
He added: ‘It’s changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and maybe you’re a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that finds its way into your songwriting.’
Grohl divorced his first wife Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1997 after admitting to cheating.
While little is known about Blum, People reported that she once appeared on the cover of Teen after being discovered in a grocery store at age 12.

Blum was reportedly working as a producer at MTV when she met the frontman.
But Grohl told Elle in 2007 that he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship when they first met, and after a few dates, he stopped calling Blum.
He shared, “After three months, I had an epiphany and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.'”
Blum has collaborated with the Foo Fighters several times, including in the 2002 music video White Limo, in which she also appeared.
She also co-directed the Foo Fighters’ 2002 music video “Walking a Line.”
News of Grohl’s infidelity came after he was last seen with Blum at Wimbledon in July.
