Dave Bautista expressed his fear that his hulking, muscular body and array of tattoos would prevent him from landing a role as the male lead in a romantic comedy.
While attending the premiere of his new horror film, Knock at the Cabin, the 54-year-old WWE Champion-turned-actor revealed his aspirations to one day star in a romantic comedy.
“I know I’m not your typical romantic comedy lead,” he said. page six. ‘I’m a bit rough around the edges.’

He continued: ‘I look in the mirror and say, I wonder, ‘Am I that unattractive? Is there something so unattractive about me that it excludes me from these places?
‘I dont know. It’s just never crossed my path. I’ve never had an offer to do a romantic comedy. I still have high hopes. I’ll keep looking,” said the Guardians of the Galaxy star.
Prior to his acting career, Bautista won the World Tag Team Championship three times and is the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history.

‘I bounced back all my 20s until I was 30 [old]. I started skipping when I was 17, and there was always some drunk jerk who wanted to test me,” she recalled.
The Knives Out 2 star added: “And then I got into wrestling, where it was really just [a] Toxic environment where I found myself again. I always felt like [I was in a] bad atmosphere.’
“And I always felt like I had to stand tall, and it was a relief to never have to do that again,” Bautista concluded.

His latest film, Knock at the Cabin, hits theaters on February 3, 2023.
He plays Leonard, a “complex, tortured and gentle” man, in the apocalyptic thriller, based on Paul G. Tremblay’s 2018 novel of the same name.
