Davante Adams trade saga takes huge new twist as NFL insider claims just ONE team is left in the running

Davante Adams will either land with the New York Jets or be forced to stay in Las Vegas, according to new information from an NFL insider.

Adams submitted a trade request to the Raiders almost two weeks ago, but is still with the team and there is a lot of mystery surrounding his future.

While Adams is on the sidelines for the third week in a row, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo revealed more about the situation, saying: ‘A source involved said: “It feels a bit like Jets or bust now”.’

The New York Jets have been the most likely landing spot for Adams since he requested a trade, partly because of their offensive needs, and partly because of the receiver’s history with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay.

However, the waters were muddied this week when the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh, meaning trade talks have taken somewhat of a back seat.

As the days progress, Adams staying in Las Vegas appears to have become more and more of an option as the team fights hard to keep their best player in the building.

Garafolo added, “Maybe now it will depend on what happens Monday night with the Jets-Bills game.

“If the Jets win, they’ll be in first place and they might say, ‘Hey, here’s the final play.'”

It has been revealed that compensation is still an issue for the Raiders, with potential suitors yet to cough up what they want to greenlight a deal for Adams.

The receiver hasn’t played since the Week 3 loss to the Panthers and is still dealing with a hamstring injury, according to the team’s injury report.

Earlier this week, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce threw cold water on any impending trade when he told reporters, “He’s still a Raider. He was never a Raider.

“If he’s healthy and we can play him, we’ll play him. He’s just not healthy right now. But he’s getting closer, that’s a good point.’

Adams turns 32 in December and is under contract until 2026.
