Daughter of late Dragon frontman Marc Hunter marries billionaire

Bella Hunter, the daughter of the late rock musician Marc Hunter, is a married woman.

The 33-year-old Aussie DJ, who had been based in Los Angeles for the past several years, walked down the aisle with 65-year-old American furniture salesman Gary Friedman.

Marc Hunter, who performed with the iconic New Zealand band Dragon, known for their hit songs Rain and Are You Old Enough?, died of cancer in 1998 at the age of 44. If he were alive today, he would be only four years older than his ultra-rich son-in-law.

Friedman, owner of Restoration Hardware, a popular household goods retailer, has an estimated net worth of $2 billion, according to Forbes.

The newlywed couple got married last weekend at the posh Six Senses Resort in Ibiza, with the The Sydney Morning Herald reporting ‘no expense has been spared’.

Guests included entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins and his flight attendant girlfriend Nicola Dale.

WHO WERE DRAGON?

Dragon was a well-known New Zealand rock band formed in Auckland in 1972.

Initially influenced by British glam rock, Dragon found their signature sound through a fusion of rock, pop and reggae elements.

Led by charismatic frontman Marc Hunter, the band achieved considerable success in the 1970s and 1980s.

Their most famous songs include April Sun in Cuba, a rock anthem with catchy hooks and a reggae-infused rhythm, and Rain, a melodic ballad that showcases Hunter’s soulful vocals.

Rain is known in Australia and New Zealand as an upbeat rock song played at wedding receptions.

Other notable hits are Are You Old Enough, Still in Love with You and Young Years.

Sadly Marc passed away in 1998, ending an era for the band.
