Data breach at Star Health ‘major problem’: experts warn after information leak

The Star Health and Allied Insurance data breaches pose a “huge problem” as sensitive information of around 31 million customers, reportedly worth 7.24 terabytes, is put up for sale, industry experts have warned. They say the severity of the problem could be even worse than it appears.

In what is possibly one of the biggest online data breaches in India to date, sensitive information of around 31 million customers of India’s largest independent health insurer has been leaked via chatbots on messaging platform Telegram.
