Horrifying moment when motorcyclist is sent flying and his bike shatters after crashing into a car at a busy intersection
- The motorcyclist was lucky to survive the horrific crash
- People stayed in their cars as if nothing had happened
A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after hitting a car at a busy intersection and flying meters through the air.
Dashcam footage captured the sickening crash on Trafalgar Road, in Camberwell, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, at around 2.40pm on February 22.
The footage showed a blue motorbike suddenly appearing on the right side of the screen, quickly coming into view before crashing straight into the car coming from the left and turning right.
The bike was immediately smashed into pieces and launched into the air, while the rider flew meters into the opposite side of the road.
The motorcyclist spun head over heels twice, his head bouncing off the ground, before sliding across the road and disappearing from view.

Amazingly, Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia that the motorcyclist suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The male driver of the car was unharmed, while his passenger suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.
People seemed frozen in the horror of the crash and stayed in their cars as if nothing had happened.
The people in their car who had witnessed a horrific crash just before their very eyes just stayed in their car waiting for a turn signal.
Finally, as the seconds ticked by and no one seemed to help the rider, one man ran across the road to see what he could do and another followed soon after.
The cars continued to run, however, as if nothing had happened, seemingly oblivious to the fact that a man could die just yards away.

Broker Nick Tang, whose dash cam recorded the video, was stopped at a red light at the time.
He was on the phone with a customer and said he was in shock for a good 30-40 seconds.
“(I) didn’t know what to do and didn’t expect to witness it on an ordinary workday. I felt like I was personally witnessing a Hollywood scene of extreme action movies,” he said.
“I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole life.”
He said the parts knocked off the engine damaged the lower front panel of his car.
Mr. Tang got out of his car a few minutes later to see if the motorcyclist and driver needed help.
“The car driver was bringing his wife home from their shopping,” said Mr. Tang. “The police and emergency team showed up about 10-15 minutes later.”
The police investigation into the collision is ongoing.
