Watch the terrifying moment an out of control an Audi SUV veers into oncoming traffic on the Hume Highway at Casula

A teenage P-plater is lucky to be alive after his car veered onto the wrong side of a motorway during evening rush hour and careened into oncoming vehicles.

Dashcam footage has been shared on social media of the horror crash that unfolded on the Hume Highway near Casula, in Sydney’s south-west, last Tuesday evening.

A man and a woman were driving together in the far right lane when they suddenly noticed a white Audi SUV repeatedly rolling over on the opposite side of the highway after crashing into a sedan.

The SUV crossed into the median and drove toward them, forcing the dashcam driver to slam on the brakes.

‘Wow, wow!’ the pair exclaimed.

The airborne Audi eventually flew across all three lanes, with debris covering the entire highway, before coming to an upright stop after hitting a pole.

‘Oh my God!’ the woman shouted.

The man added, “O Jesus. Man!’

Two other motorists were caught stopping and coming to the driver’s aid.

The occupants of the dashcam car were shocked by the condition of the SUV as they drove past it.

“Are you okay?” said the woman.

The woman asked if they should check on the driver, but the man said, “I’m not involved, man.”

“But you have the dashcam,” the woman argued as they drove past the crash before the clip ended.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

“Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and were advised that an Audi SUV and a Mitsubishi sedan had collided,” a NSW Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

The spokeswoman added that the P-plate driver of the white SUV was a 17-year-old, who avoided serious injury.

It was also a lucky escape for the 25-year-old woman driving the Mitsubishi sedan, who was unhurt.

A crime scene has been established by the police.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.

The dashcam quickly went viral online and was viewed more than 105,000 times within hours of being uploaded on Sunday evening.
