Darts star Stephen Bunting announces he and his wife are expecting a baby boy in November… exactly nine months on from his Masters triumph

  • Darts cult hero Bunting announced the news with a gender reveal video on X
  • A keen-eyed fan spotted how the baby’s arrival coincided with Bunting’s victory

Stephen Bunting is beaming as he and his wife announce that they will be welcoming a new baby boy into their family in early November. One keen-eyed fan has hilariously spotted the baby’s expected timing.

The 39-year-old took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to post a video of his son Tobias popping a giant balloon in front of their house, showering blue confetti on the ground.

In the caption of the post, Bunting said: ‘IT’S A BOY. Baby bullet due early November 2024. Keila, Tobias and I are over the moon. We can’t wait to welcome our baby boy into the world.’

Shortly after Bunting’s joyous announcement, a fan connected the dots and realised the baby would be born in early November – exactly nine months after the darts star’s victory at the Masters in February.

Accompanied by a laughing emoji, the fan hilariously posted: ‘Exactly 9 months after he won the Masters. That’s why he’s the [goat emoji]’

Many more X users were excited about the timing of Bunting’s announcement, playfully linking it to his Masters victory and his baby’s due date.

One added: ‘So more trophies = more Bunting babies. Not sure his house can accommodate all these kids.’

Another asked playfully, “Did the party go well then?”

Bunting secured his first televised PDC victory earlier this year by beating three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen to win the Cazoo Masters title in Milton Keynes.

The next morning, Bunting brilliantly captured the iconic photograph of Lionel Messi celebrating the FIFA World Cup, showing him lying in bed with his Masters trophy.

A topless Bunting lay under the covers next to his prize and said he had had a restless night as he had to keep checking to make sure his new trophy had not disappeared.

Bunting posted the photo on social media and said: ‘It wasn’t a dream. I honestly woke up every hour of the night to see if the trophy was still there. So proud of my achievements this weekend.
