Ricky Evans defeated sixth seed Dave Chisnall in a thrilling second round at the World Darts Championship after making another brilliantly festive entrance.
Chisnall became the 13th seed to crash out in the second round at Alexandra Palace, with Evans securing a dramatic 3-2 victory that went all the way to a sudden death penalty.
Evans once again brought the Christmas spirit as he made his way to Merry Christmas. Everyone wore their Christmas themed shirts and glasses while holding a dancing toy Santa.
Evans then danced along with the toys on stage, much to the amusement of the audience.
The match was memorable, not least because of a shocking miscount from Chisnall in the penultimate leg.
Chisnall finished 131 and celebrated after hitting double 16 at the end.
However, he actually needed 139, which means he should have finished at double 20.
He was able to keep his composure and make the decision, but it was his opponent who claimed victory as the fans in attendance reached fever pitch.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, Evans said: ‘It’s not even what it is, I’ve played against a world-class darts player again.
‘I played quite well and won. Normally it’s shit, I can say shit. Look at this, wow. I don’t understand, why are they cheering for me?’
Speaking about the crowd at Alexandra Palace, he added: ‘I wish I had beaten Chizzy 3-0, my ticker would be a bit slower.
‘The other 11 months of the year, what do I do? Except my wedding. I must be a Scott Williams prodigy. It must be the gingers.
‘I don’t get this reception in my household. Thank you very much. You made a very fat man very happy.”
