A man has died after two boats collided in Sydney Harbour.
Emergency services were called to New Beach Road in Darling Point, Sydney, after two boats collided at 6.30pm on Friday.
A man in his 50s, who has yet to be formally identified, suffered serious chest injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
Officers attached to the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were assisted by members of the police force Marine Area Command who attended the scene.
Ambulances were seen parked at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia as police spoke to witnesses and bystanders after the crash.
The skippers of both boats involved in the crash will be subjected to mandatory tests and both ships seized for mechanical examination.
The investigation into the incident has started.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
