Danny Murphy believes Premier League star is Harry Kane’s obvious long-term successor for England.
The player in question has started this campaign at a newly promoted club.
Kane will be part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans, but the new England manager will also look at other options.
Murphy is extremely impressed with how the player has performed so far this season.
The attacker has shown that he has both physical and technical qualities.
Murphy added that the individual has the qualities to be a ‘top international player’.

Liam Delap has had a big impact for Ipswich in the Premier League this season
Murphy believes Ipswich striker Liam Delap is the ideal successor to Kane.
Speaking Match of the day 2Murphy said: ‘I’ve seen him quite a lot this season and I’d probably go so far as to say he’s the obvious long-term successor to Kane for me.
‘I think he is the best young English striker around. I know he still has some learning to do and wisdom comes with experience and playing time in this league, but he has all the attributes to be a top international player.
‘I just don’t see any weakness for him. He has scored enough goals in a difficult team. He gets many chances to score more. He just has that nice balance between physical and technical; rarely do you get both. He is a super talent.’
Delap has scored six goals in 11 Premier League games for Ipswich so far this season and has impressed with his physical presence.
He played briefly in the top flight for Manchester City before gaining Championship experience during loan spells at Stoke, Preston and Hull.
Delap has scored two goals in ten appearances for England Under-21s, having previously represented his country in several other age groups.
England have other alternative options for Kane, such as Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke.
Despite being only 21 years old, Delap will be determined to force his way into Tuchel’s plans.
