‘She has been able to go out and also go on holiday, which has been a relief from the stress of being able to live a somewhat normal life again, but it still hurts her inside that her life has been changed forever.’

The source continued, “It’s going to get better, but it’s also going to take forever to heal from this. She has had a very stressful life because she had to deal with this and what her father was accused of. It has been an emotional toll that has taken her to places of extreme stress and heartache. It will remain that way for a long time to come.’

In September 2009, Bijou’s sister Mackenzie revealed that she and their father, John Phillips, had an incestuous sexual relationship for ten years starting when she was 19.

Bijou defended her father, who died in March 2001, and said in an interview at the time: ‘I am now 29, I have spoken to everyone who was there at the time, I have asked the difficult questions. I don’t believe my sister. Our father (was) many things. This isn’t one of them.’

She also stood by Danny during both of his trials, but filed for divorce in September 2023, just 12 days after he was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison for raping two women.

Now she’s focusing on the future with their only child, Fianna, and is in full-on “mama bear mode.”

The insider explained, “Birthdays are going to be so hard, and Bijou is scared of the upcoming birthdays because it will remind her of everything she has lost and what her family has lost.

‘Her daughter’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day and hers and Danny’s birthday are in the next few months, and in recent years they would all enjoy it together.

‘Fianna’s birthday, especially on a day known for love, is something that will take her off her game and she will be in mama bear mode as she has been, but it is still devastating for her to have this to experience, not enough, time has passed.’

Last month the actress looked dejected as she ran errands with her daughter Fianna after DailyMail.com revealed she had quietly left Scientology. Less than a week later, the former Men at Work star had his bail application rejected.

The source revealed: ‘Danny remains adamant he has done nothing wrong and dreams of the day he is released. His feelings have not changed and he is awaiting his appeal process.”

However, now that his bail application has been rejected, his conviction awaits an appeal.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo said Danny “will likely remain in custody for decades, and perhaps for the rest of his life” if his sentence is upheld on appeal.

Olmedo, who oversaw his trial, said he is a flight risk.

This is partly due to the fact that Bijou filed for divorce after twelve years of marriage.

The order read: “In light of the fact that the suspect has no wife to go home to, the suspect now has every incentive to flee and little incentive to return to state prison to serve out the remainder of his lengthy sentence to sit if his appeal were unsuccessful. ‘
