A beloved street activist who was injured in a brutal police arrest has announced that he is running in the upcoming New South Wales election.
Danny Lim, 78, revealed that he intended to run under the ballot as ‘Danny Lim’s team of independent candidates’ when the state heads to the polls in March.
Lim said he was motivated to become an MP after he was hospitalized with head injuries following a shock arrest in November.

Footage captured the local figure as two officers forced him to the ground in the Queen Victoria building, giving him a bloody face and a black eye.
Mr. Lim suffered a brain haemorrhage from the fall and requires ongoing specialized medical attention and a cane.
He said he was lucky to be alive and still felt he had a lot of work ahead of him.
“Sometimes it’s hard for me, I get dizzy and have a headache, I have no mental or physical energy, but I don’t want to stay at home,” Lim said. the daily telegraph.
Lim ran unsuccessfully for parliament in 2019 and has yet to secure the nominations and candidates for the election this time.
The Sydney activist could be the first independent elected to the upper house of parliament if he is successful.
He vowed to make “positive change” while belittling the “broken promises” made by former Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian and her successor Dominic Perrottet.

“The system doesn’t work for a lot of people,” Lim said.

Lim vowed to bring more openness, transparency and accountability in state politics.
Free dental care, affordable housing and legalized marijuana are among his campaign promises.
Lim said he was still recovering from the brutal arrest in November, but would not let his symptoms stop him.
