When it turned out that it was Danny under the mask, Cooper gasped in shock and shouted, “It’s Dad!” It’s dad!’
His parents burst out laughing as Cooper jumped off the couch and ran to climb onto his father’s lap and hug him.
Host Joel Dommett commented on the adorable video, writing, “To be honest this was my reaction too…”
Danny’s McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher also shared his reaction to the big reveal as he watched at home with his three sons, Buzz, nine, Buddy, eight, and Max, five.
The family cheered and jumped around as Danny was unmasked, with Buzz declaring, “I knew it!”
Tom then shared another video on his Instagram, addressed to Danny, expressing his congratulations and praising his bandmate for his ‘unreal’ performance.
He said: ‘Danny ‘Piranha’ Jones, wow, congratulations mate. You gave some of the best vocals I’ve ever heard. They were unreal.
“I’m sure all the McFly fans across the country have been screaming at their TVs over the last few weeks, as have my kids, because of course we know you can sing like that.

“We’ve heard you sing like that for the past 21 years, but what I love is seeing how many people heard this incredible voice from that Piranha and would never have guessed it was that McFly guy.
“And I think that just shows how underrated Danny has been over the last 20 years. It took him standing on stage wearing a Piranha mask to make people take a step back and realize that Danny Jones, from McFly, has one of the best voices of all time.
‘God’s level, above that, with the very best. How lucky we are to have Danny Jones’ voice in our band.’
Tom concluded: ‘Congratulations Danny, it was great and I hope you get to keep the mask! I’ll see you soon!’
Then he joked at the end: “I thought you smelled a bit fishy, mate…”
In the final, Danny sang a stunning rendition of Sam Smith’s Lay Me Down, with panellist Jonathan Ross stating: ‘I think it was the best performance, not just of this series, but of any series. That was extremely good.’
He fended off competition from fellow finalists Cricket and Bigfoot, who were revealed to be singer Lemar and comedian Alex Brooker respectively.
On winning the show, Danny said: ‘It feels surreal. Everything about this show and everything I just did is completely surreal! I have become a Piranha, and no longer Danny Jones!’

He admitted it was difficult to keep his participation and victory a secret, saying: ‘Very difficult and even more difficult now that I have won.
‘It’s been really hard because I get excited about things very easily and I go all out when I do something. I’m supposed to be on tour. It was very difficult, but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?’
Following his revelation, guest panelist Rob Brydon joked that Danny should ditch the other members of McFly and go solo.
Referring to Danny’s bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, Rob joked: “If we’ve learned anything, it’s time to ditch those losers and go it alone. Those guys stopped you!’
Speaking about what his bandmates would think of his performance, Danny said: ‘I think the boys will be very surprised. I’m my own worst enemy, so I always say, “That wasn’t very good,” so they always build me up. They guessed me straight away.’
