Danish ‘Cinderella’ who left her golden stiletto at future king’s birthday bash bags her very own Prince Charming

A Danish student who was dubbed a ‘real Cinderella’ after leaving one of her gold stilettos behind on the future king’s birthday has found her own ‘Prince Charming’.

Anne-Sofie Tornso Olesen left one of her high heels behind at the end of Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th birthday party in October last year.

Unlike in the fairy tale, Anne-Sofie’s missing shoe was not returned by the prince, but by a postman, after the royal family posted a photo of the heel on social media.

However, Anne-Sofie has now found love in twenty-year-old Nikolas Kolding, who works at the Tivoli Gardens amusement park in the Danish capital Copenhagen.

“We met in Tivoli,” she said. ‘I was out with my boyfriend. I thought he looked cute, so I went up to him and asked for his socials.

“A few days later he took me on the cutest date”: a picnic in the woods.

The 19-year-old actress added: “To me he’s like a king.”

Actress Anne-Sofie (pictured left) joked that leaving the shoe at the party was “intended to be a fairytale ending à la Cinderella.” Right in the photo: Prince Christian

Anne-Sofie was invited to Prince Christian’s party to represent the area where she lives outside the Danish capital after winning the invitation to a raffle.

She wore a sheer black dress to the reception and even greeted then-Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, her son Crown Prince Frederik and his son Prince Christian, all of whom were oblivious to her “funny” attempt to steal the show.

The actress said at the time: ‘I thought it was a bit funny myself, and I’ve talked to my family and friends about it before, and they agreed that I should do it. It’s an opportunity you won’t get again.

“It’s not because I think I’m going to marry him now, but I was kind of hoping that someone would find it funny, and then it also draws attention to the royal family.”

The student did speak to the Prince during his party, although she could not remember the exact conversation.

‘I don’t remember exactly what I was asking about because I was so confused, but I think it had something to do with how he felt about the whole thing – and the fact that he had all those people in the castle invited,” she said.
