From the outside, there didn’t seem much wrong with Channel Nine sports presenter Danika Mason’s relationship with her boyfriend Todd Liubinskas.

In recent weeks the TV star and personal trainer were all smiles as they holidayed in the snow in Thredbo, NSW and attended the launch of an electric car store.

Mason even threw Liubinskas a 40th birthday party just two weeks ago, which he called an “epic surprise.”

But there was one telltale sign that the broadcaster had called off the wedding – which eagle-eyed fans might have picked up when watching Channel Nine’s coverage of the Broncos vs Warriors preliminary final this weekend.

The couple recently enjoyed a holiday together in Thredbo, in the Snowy Mountains in NSW. There was no indication at the time that anything was wrong

As Mason hosted the Sunday Footy Show from the sidelines, her large diamond engagement ring was noticeably absent from her left hand.

Mason and her partner of three years broke the news of their divorce late last week to wedding guests – including a number of high-profile media personalities – who had accepted invitations to their overseas wedding.

Friends told media on Tuesday that Mason, 30, is “extremely devastated” and “absolutely heartbroken.”

It is unclear what contributed to the wedding being called off.

While Mason ditched her rings this weekend, she was seen with her rock two weeks ago when the couple made a public appearance in Sydney.

Prior to the announcement, Mason and Liubinskas’ social media feeds were filled with photos and videos from vacations, lavish events and parties with friends.

Their social media accounts are littered with happy snaps posted over the past few weeks of them smiling while spending time together.

In August, Liubinskas shared a video of the couple enjoying a ski trip in Thredbo, with their pet Labrador, Charlie.

Mason could be seen laughing and smiling at Liubinskas as he filmed her charging their electric car before leaving.

The pair also projected an image of relationship bliss on September 14 when they posed side by side for photos at an event to launch BYD’s new electric car and showroom in Alexandria, in Sydney’s south.

And just two weeks ago, Mason organized a surprise birthday for Liubinskas as he turned 40.

“40 feels good!” Liubinskas wrote on Instagram on September 17, alongside a photo of the couple at a bar with friends.

‘Thanks for the love! An epic surprise’.

Liubinskas, who works in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach, proposed to Mason in July 2021.

He is the son of former Wests Suburbs and Balmain rugby league player Mick Liubinskas.

In June, Mason proudly shared a video of Charlie helping her unpack a margarita tasting kit to be used at their wedding reception.

“The best part of planning a wedding… doing the Margarita tastings,” she captioned the post.

Liubinskas was recently approached by producers of Married At First Sight to star in the popular singles reality show.

Showrunners apparently didn’t know he was engaged to Mason.

An amused Liubinskas told Daily Mail Australia at the time: “Lol… I shut it down pretty quickly.”
