Daniel MacPherson’s sister Brodie is engaged to her girlfriend – six months after she quit the ‘toxic’ TV industry full of ‘selfish actors’ and ‘outdated executives’

Brodie MacPherson, former TV producer and sister of Daniel MacPherson, is engaged.

The blonde beauty, 30, took to Instagram on Monday to announce her engagement to girlfriend Laura Dickson.

The social media star shared a photo of herself by a seaside pool, her open hand blocking her face as she showed off the engagement ring with a large diamond insert.

In the caption, she wrote “(re)engaged,” referring to her previous engagement celebration in August, when she proposed to Laura in Greece.

Both women have now given each other engagement rings, and Brodie's followers were thrilled with the response.

Brodie called her previous life on TV “superficial” and said her career had left her traumatized, unhappy and overworked.

Brodie, who entered the entertainment industry as an 18-year-old, also claims she was bullied into resigning from her last job and went on to describe a toxic culture full of selfish actors and “outdated” executives.

Brodie described her decision to leave the career she “loved” as liberating, saying it was “hard on her ego but essential for her soul.”

She went on to talk about her heartbreak as former colleagues no longer wanted to interact with her after she quit.

β€œI ran into 'industry' people wondering what show I was working on now,” she said on her Instagram Story.

“Or that I had the latest salacious gossip,” she continued.

'And when I answered 'nothing' and 'no', they looked at me in silence…

“As I leaned deeper into my life, away from the TV, I lost touch with countless people I once considered my best friends, probably because I no longer had anything to offer them for selfish gain.”

Brodie went on to condemn the culture she witnessed in the TV production.

She called out unnamed “injustices” on set and “immoral behavior” behind the scenes, saying she was angry at herself for not doing anything about it.

Elsewhere in her intimate statement, the blonde beauty said she was initially reluctant to talk about the injustices she said she saw on TV, fearing it could affect future career prospects.

β€œIf that fear was evoked in me,” she explained, β€œas someone who has held senior production positions and is fortunate enough to have an extensive network of contacts, what hope does an intern have?

β€œAre we so vulnerable as an industry that we can't hear how big an impact the dark side of Australian TV can have?”

Brodie says she has now chosen a new career, “which has been the richest part of her life.”
