Daniel Jones responds to ‘inhumane’ taunts from Giants fans – after supporters BURNED his jersey outside MetLife Stadium following Vikings loss
Daniel Jones has ignored criticism from Giants fans after a subpar performance in Week 1. The quarterback said Wednesday that he “doesn’t get offended easily.”
Jones – after throwing two interceptions in a loss to the Vikings – was booed by fans at the players’ exit after the match, where even some fans were seen burn his shirt in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium.
But the player, who is in his sixth year, appears to be accepting the criticism as he prepares for a match against the Commanders this weekend.
“They’re angry and frustrated, and we’re frustrated too,” Jones said after training, via the New York Post.
“I get that. I don’t get offended easily. I understand how it works. I have to play better, we all have to play better.”

Jones and the Giants were easily defeated by the Vikings, 28-6, with the quarterback completing just 22 of 42 passes.
Attacking player Jermaine Eluemunor did not exactly express his displeasure at the criticism, but he called the fans’ actions “inhuman”.
“There has to be a line of fans where it’s okay to boo, it’s okay to be frustrated, but to harass someone after a game as they’re trying to walk to their car, they’re clearly already feeling bad, I don’t like that at all,” he said.
“I think somebody should say something about that. That’s my quarterback, I have to protect him, on and off the field. I have no respect for that at all.”
As seen in the offseason edition of ‘Hard Knocks’, the Giants made repeated attempts to move up from the sixth overall pick in the draft and select a new quarterback, but ultimately brought back Jones for his sixth season as the starter.

The quarterback was offered a four-year, $160 million contract after an impressive 2022 season, but he has struggled outside of that year, making just one playoff appearance in New York.
It is therefore no surprise that many Giants fans have lost patience with him.
“I feel like I’ve been doubted for a long time, but I’ve had to work through it and do well,” Jones said.
‘I think my mental resilience is good, I’m not worried about that.’
Jones and the Giants hope to get back on track at home against the Commanders on Sunday.
