New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been ruled out for the remainder of the NFL season after tearing his ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jones troublingly went down without contact in the second quarter at Allegiant Stadium while trying to avoid Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
The 26-year-old fell to the ground after his knee appeared to give way, before being taken out of the game after the first play of the quarter.
Despite not needing a cart or assistance as he left the field, Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed Monday morning that Jones will not play again this season.
An MRI scan revealed that Jones has torn his ACL and will now undergo surgery in the hope he can be ready for the start of the 2024 season.

Jones’ injury comes amid mounting problems for the struggling Giants, who fell to 2-7 at Nevada on Sunday.
With Tyrod Taylor missing at least three more games due to a rib problem, New Jersey’s Tommy DeVito is set to take over the quarterback duties for their Week 10 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
DeVito threw two interceptions on his first three pass attempts before settling down and finishing with 175 yards passing with a touchdown and the two picks.
Daboll’s only other option is veteran QB Matt Barkley, who was only signed to the practice squad last week.
DeVito entered the game trailing the Giants 7-0, but by the time Jones was ruled out for the remainder of the game early in the third quarter, that deficit had grown to 24-0.
