Daniel Craig says ‘social media is killing kids’ as he poses in a floral shirt for latest cover shoot
Daniel Craig said ‘social media is killing children’ as he shared his thoughts about his pets in his latest magazine cover.
Posing in a floral shirt for W magazine‘s Best Performers Issue 2025, the actor, 56, discussed his latest film Queer, set in the 1950s.
During the accompanying photo shoot, Daniel wore a brightly colored shirt, which he partially unbuttoned, with pinstripe pants.
He then put on a black suit, paired with sneakers, as he lay on a hotel room bed.
Reflecting on his irritations in the interview, Daniel admitted: ‘Social media – what it’s doing to our children. As far as I’m concerned, it’s smoking. It kills them.’
Elsewhere he revealed that despite his own fame, he still gets awed when he meets other celebrities.

“Out of anyone who is remotely famous, I get star struck and lose the ability to speak, or become verbal,” he admitted.
‘It was quite something to meet Steven Spielberg for the first time. I told him a very, very, very dirty joke. He had already cast me in Munich, so that was fine.’
The highly anticipated Best Performances portfolio is an annual feature curated by W’s editor-in-chief Lynn Hirschberg and spotlights stars at the forefront of cinema.
This year’s Best Performance edition celebrates 34 actors who were thrilling, mesmerizing and ultimately unforgettable, featuring Adrien Brody, Angelina Jolie, Ariana Grande, Colman Domingo, Cynthia Erivo and Demi Moore.
Also featured are Kingsley Ben-Adir, Mia Goth, Nicole Kidman, Paul Mescal, Saoirse Ronan, Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, Zendaya and Zoe Saldaña on sixteen unique covers.
Daniel recently admitted that he’s still jealous of other actors when they get the job he wanted during an appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Podcast.
He said: ‘I get jealous all the time, of every damn actor who gets a job that I would like, but I admit it.
“Someone gave me some good advice before: don’t be bitter, it will eat you up.”
Daniel’s most recent role is in the film Queer, which follows American expat and war veteran William Lee (played by Craig), who has a romance with a younger man, Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey).
The actor recently revealed that he felt “empty” and emotionally “exhausted” after shooting each of his James Bond films.
Reflecting on his irritations in the interview, Daniel admitted: ‘Social media – what it’s doing to our children. As far as I’m concerned, it’s smoking. It kills them.”

Daniel starred in five Bond films between 2006 and 2021, and Daniel has now admitted that the money-grubbing films took a physical and emotional toll on him.
‘Early on at Bond I thought I should do other work, but I didn’t. I became a star, whatever that means, and people wanted me in their movies. Unbelievable,” he added.
“Most actors are largely unemployed, so you take job offers, but they left me empty. Then I finally got paid.
‘At the end of Bond I was so exhausted that it would take me six months to recover emotionally. I’ve always had the attitude that life should come first, and when work came first for a while, I drifted out of it.’
Daniel remains very fond of the Bond franchise, and he’s eager to see what’s next from producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.
