Mr Bond would approve! Daniel Craig leaves fans shocked and moved as he visits Bauer Media Radio in a sharp houndstooth suit as he promotes Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Daniel Craig left onlookers somewhat shocked and quite moved on a visit to Bauer Media Radio Studios in London on Wednesday morning.

Even the smartly dressed James Bond would have approved when the former 007 showed up in a classic houndstooth suit during his latest promotional appearance for the new film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Craig, 54, completed his look with a blue shirt, mottled tie and matching pocket square, while Argyll socks and formal brown leather shoes completed the ensemble.

The actor became a household name after replacing Piece Brosnan as James Bond in 2006 and starring in five consecutive films as the world-traveling secret agent before hanging up his tuxedo in 2021.

Glass Onion, his first major step away from the Bond franchise, follows a group of flatterers and friends of Ed Norton’s brilliantly played billionaire Miles, who become trapped on an island with a killer on the loose.

As with the first Knives Out film, director Rian Johnson has assembled an all-star cast including Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr. and Dave Bautista.

But Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc is the only returning character – with the British actor admitting he’s worked as hard as he can to get back into the southern sleuth’s headspace – especially given his trademark accent.

“I’m on it all the time,” he told the Associated Press. “I have to work really hard for it, but once it’s in, it’s in and then it’s part of me.”

However, he admitted that he had dropped the accent while at home with his loved ones, including daughter Ella Loudon and actress wife Rachel Weisz.

“My family isn’t very nice, I’m not allowed to do that,” he joked.

Craig also admitted that dancing doesn’t come naturally to him, but he couldn’t resist a pitch from Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi in a new ad.

The pair collaborated on a recent Belvedere vodka ad, in which the former James Bond actor swings his hips and shuffles through hotel corridors while showing off tattooed biceps and a devastating pout.

‘It was hard work, because I don’t dance. So the fact is, we had a great choreographer from JaQuel Knight come in and I worked with him for a few days,” he said.

‘I just went for it. You don’t get opportunities like that very often.’

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is getting a limited theatrical release before its international screening on Netflix on December 23.
