Trolls have cruelly mocked Daniel Andrews and his daughter after the Victorian Premier announced she was embarking on the journey of a lifetime.

Andrews, who was re-elected as prime minister following last month’s state election, posted a sweet picture of his daughter Grace Andrews at the Melbourne airport on his Facebook page on Monday.

“He finished year 12 and off on his next big adventure,” he wrote. I miss you already, Gracie.

But the post was hijacked by critics and trolls of the prime minister who attacked Andrews and her daughter. “I would move too if you were my father,” said one.

Another wrote: “Even your (sic) daughter can’t wait to get away from you and this state.”

‘Smart girl… get as far away from you as possible,’ added a third.

“He’s leaving the state before his dad locks us up again,” one user joked.

One critic implored the Prime Minister to go with his daughter, writing: ‘Why don’t you go with her Dan! And do not return!

“I hope she had 57 backup to keep her safe,” another quipped.

While there were harsh jokes at the prime minister’s expense, many of Andrews’s supporters kindly wished their daughter a safe journey.

Daniel Andrews’ Labor government won a third term after overwhelmingly beating the Liberal Party in state elections in November.

The prime minister secured 53 electorates in the 88-seat lower house compared to the LNP Coalition, which won 27 seats.

The Labor primary vote plummeted to 37 percent, but much of the Liberals’ fruitless gains came from safe ALP seats in the fringe suburbs that the government was still clinging to win.

Victorian Liberal leader Matthew Guy has announced his resignation after leading his party through two consecutive electoral losses.

He previously resigned as opposition leader after the coalition suffered an electoral battering in 2018 before returning to office in September 2021 and losing again in 2022.

The victory gives Labor another four years in office after having held power in the state for 19 of the last 23 years.

It will make Dan Andrews the second longest-serving Prime Minister in the state and the longest-serving Labor Prime Minister.
