A woman is fighting for her life after being attacked by three dogs in a backyard.
Emergency services were called to a house on Ross Street in Dandenong, in Melbourne’s south-east, about 10am on Thursday.
Police tried to break up the attack by using capsicum spray on the animals, but the dogs continued to maul the woman and had to be shot dead.
The woman remains in critical condition in hospital and police are investigating.
It remains unclear whether the woman owned the dogs or lived in the home where the attack occurred.
