Truck crashes through the side of a building in Melbourne – the driver is rushed to hospital

A lorry driver has been hospitalized after colliding with a two-storey building in Melbourne’s south-east.

The driver, believed to be a man in his 60s, was rushed to Alfred Hospital at 6.46am on Wednesday following the crash at Engine Australia on Lonsdale St, Dandenong.

The man was trapped in the cabin of a truck for some time and had to be freed by the emergency services.

He is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A heavy transport team has arrived to remove the truck from the storefront.
