Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke CONFIRMS showmances with THREE of her celebrity partners – and one of the men is revealed: ‘It happens’
Former Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke has confirmed she has had three showmances with her celebrity partners, one of which was revealed – but who is it?
The 39-year-old Filipino-American dancer – whose ex is actor Matthew Lawrence – opened up about the romances she had with her dance partners on the reality show.
She made the revelation during a recent appearance on Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ podcast.
Cheryl said, “I’ve had my own showmances, you know. It happens.’
The television personality further revealed that she has had a total of three showmances and has even tried to make her relationship with one of them work outside of the show.
Former Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke (pictured in West Hollywood in March 20123) has confirmed on Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ podcast that she has had three showmances with her famous partners, one of which is revealed
She confirmed the name of one of the partners she had a performance with, while initially trying to remain a mother.
The stunner shared, “One of them basically professed his love for me on Ellen DeGeneres.”
Cheryl then revealed it was former NFL Great Wide Receiver Chad Ochocinco.
The 46-year-old former Cincinnati Bengals player was her partner during the series’ 10th season in 2010 when they finished in fourth place.
The two other possible showmance partners remain a mystery, but deductive reasoning makes it a little easier to figure out who it wasn’t.
The talented performer was in a relationship with actor Matthew Lawrence from 2017 to 2022 and during that time she worked with Terrell Owens, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Ray Lewis, AJ McLean, Cody Rigsby and Sam Champion.
It’s also likely that it wasn’t Beverly Hills, 90210 star Ian Ziering who she teamed up with for the show’s fourth season in 2007, when she famously revealed that she wasn’t enjoying their time together as partners.
She said in 2016: ‘Those are the true colors they didn’t show on Dancing With the Stars… Think about spending eight to 10 hours a day, seven days a week, for three months doing that. It made me want to slit my wrists.

So if those contestants were eliminated, the list of possible showmance partners would be: Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Wayne Newton, Cristián de la Fuente, Maurice Greene, Gilles Marini, Tom DeLay, Rick Fox, Chris Jericho, Rob Kardashian (pictured in December 2011 ), William Levy, DL Hughley, Jack Osbourne, Drew Carey, Antonio Sabàto Jr. and Ryan Lochte
She won the coveted mirrorball trophy in back-to-back seasons two and three with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith, respectively (pictured in February 2022).
Cheryl competed on 25 seasons of Dancing With The Stars before leaving in 2022 with season 31
“I cried to the executives. I thought, “Is there a way to please just eliminate us?” They say, “We can’t do that. We can’t do that.” And I swear, every time I asked, we just kept going. We would see it through to the end.”
She later apologized for her comments.
