Dancing With The Stars’ 2025 hosts are revealed after Dr Chris Brown’s debut with Sonia Kruger prompted very mixed reactions
The presenters for the 2025 series of Dancing With The Stars Australia have been announced after Dr Chris Brown and Sonia Kruger sparked mixed reactions.
TV presenter Chris, 45, made his debut on the Channel Seven show with 58-year-old presenter Sonia in the 2024 series, but not all fans were impressed with the duo.
Some disgruntled viewers called for the return of Daryl Somers, as veterinarian Chris received a very lukewarm reception upon his highly anticipated debut.
Despite the criticism, it has been announced that Chris and Sonia will once again front the celebrity dance competition next year.
Chris has reportedly signed a three-year deal with the network, while series veteran Sonia is in the running for the title of most popular presenter and personality at the 2024 Logie Awards.
“Bringing Sonia and Chris together on Dancing With The Stars is a huge investment from the network,” a source said Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“Channel Seven always knew this was their first step and they enjoyed watching the two get to know each other on camera,” the source said.
‘By next year, viewers will have forgotten what this show looked like. It always takes a while for the audience to get used to these kinds of long-running shows.’

Chris took over from Australian TV legend Daryl as co-host of Dancing With The Stars this series, after his departure from the show was confirmed in October last year.
However, Chris’ debut on the popular program last month was met with a lukewarm reception from the less than enthusiastic fans.
Viewers reacted to X at the time about the change of presenter, with most lamenting the loss of Hey Hey It’s Saturday star Daryl, 72, from their screens.
Someone wrote: ‘I watch #DancingAU but think it’s a shame Daryl isn’t hosting.’
“Don’t get me wrong, I love Dr. Chris Brown, but I feel sorry for Daryl Somers,” said another.
A third immediately took aim at Daryl’s replacement, saying: “We’re still trying to make Chris Brown succeed?”
Others disagreed with the critics. One person said: ‘I think Chris would do a great job in the role after the show in the sky lounge.’
While some were unimpressed with Chris’ debut, Sonia also received criticism when she started the season by making jokes about her former co-host Daryl Somers (pictured), who quit last year
Sonia also faced a fair amount of criticism for starting the season by making jokes about her former co-host Daryl.
TV icon Daryl left the show at the end of last season and Sonia decided to take a cheeky dig at her former colleague.
“I got really badly injured on Dancing with the Stars. I basically had to amputate a host,” she joked to Chris.
Although the show’s audience laughed at the comment, not everyone watching the program at home was impressed.
“Sonia’s repeated bitchy comments about Daryl Somers are not funny, they are unprofessional, mean and just plain unnecessary,” one person fumed.
“If I was ever going to vote for her for the Gold Logie, I certainly wouldn’t be doing it now. Horrible,” they added, before calling Sonia a “mean girl”.
Daryl previously presented Dancing With The Stars between 2004 and 2007, before returning from 2021 to 2023 alongside co-host Sonia.
