Dancing On Ice’s Siva Kaneswaran will NOT be skating on this week’s show ‘due to illness’ as he says he needs to ‘rest and improve’ before returning
Dancing On Ice’s Siva Kaneswaran has been forced to pull out of the Sunday night show ‘due to illness’, it was announced.
The 34-year-old Wanted star and fellow pro Klabera Komini will not be skating in this week’s competition after being advised by medical professionals to rest.
Speaking of missing the show, which will introduce a new category of icons, Siva admitted he was “gutted” but said he had been hit by a “mistake”.
He said: ‘I’m devastated that I won’t be performing this weekend, but earlier in the week I caught a bug that I haven’t been able to undo so I need to rest and improve.
“Good luck to all the contestants this weekend. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s performances!”

Although Siva will miss Sunday’s show, he will return to competition next week after recovering from his illness.
A Dancing on Ice spokesperson added: ‘Due to illness, Siva will not be skating in this weekend’s show. We look forward to welcoming you next weekend.”
Sunday night’s contest will see celebrities pushed even further after bosses have added a new category to the competition.
Viewers can look forward to plenty of awesome skates after a new icon theme was added to the show’s format ahead of Sunday’s live show.
Professional Matt Evers, who is partnered with EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, 50, wrote in his best magazine column: ‘They will be massive icons of the music industry.’
Before you quip: ‘Really big tracks for us.’
However, he declined to reveal any further details, saying viewers would have to wait until Sunday’s show.
Last week’s show saw Love Island’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 28, broke down in tears when she failed to win the judges’ votes and was eliminated after going toe-to-toe with the actress. patsy Palmer at the skate-off.
Elsewhere, Siva collapsed while paying tribute to his late The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker during the first episode of Dancing Of Dancing on Ice last month.
Tom lost his life in March of last year at the age of 33, after a year and a half long battle with stage four glioblastoma brain cancer.
Before his first show with his partner Klabera, Siva held back tears, saying: “I guess I’m still grieving” before revealing that his friend’s “courage” inspired him to take part in the ITV show.
In the candid confessional, he admitted, “When I think about the past, I think about Tom, last year, Tom…” before breaking off emotionally.
Before adding: “I guess I’m still grieving, I witness his courage when he was struggling with his illness and it was very inspiring.”
As he spoke, a snapshot of him and his late friend from their time together in the chart-topping band was shown.
Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday at 6:25pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
