Patsy Palmer has revealed that she moved from her Malibu home to Berkshire while competing on the new series of Dancing On Ice.
The 50-year-old former EastEnders star, who moved to Hollywood with husband Richard Merkell in 2014, had been training on ice rinks in Los Angeles with partner Matt Evers before the show’s return on January 15.
But now, Patsy has revealed that she will be staying in the UK for the duration of the series so she can jump into the competition, counting Mirror he has already brought out his competitive streak.

She said, ‘I’m not competitive, but this time I’m going to say, let’s try to win it.’
“I’m going to focus on training and use meditation, and this will really test me.”
Patsy said she made a pact to “get out of her comfort zone,” adding: “This is for everyone in their 50s. I’m pretty scared now.
Last week, Patsy, best known for her role as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders, became the first celebrity to step onto the dance floor at Dancing on Ice studios in London.

The actress, who recently arrived at Blighty from her Malibu home, wrapped up a puffer jacket that she paired with a black beanie.
She was joined by her professional partner Matt and revealed that the new track was ‘like glass!’.
Patsy had previously been living in Malibu with her husband Richard and their three children, Fenton, 22, Emilia, 20, and Bertie, 10, after moving to the US in 2014.
She is also the mother of actor Charley Palmer Rothwell, 30, her son based in the UK with ex-partner Alfie Rothwell.

In October, Patsy became the first celebrity to be announced in this year’s Dancing On Ice lineup.
She told This Morning: “I can’t believe it’s the first one, this was the one I really had to think about, I wanted to challenge myself, get out of my comfort zone.”
“I’ve turned it down before because I was terrified, but when I turned 50 I made a pact to get out of my confrontation zone. This is for everyone over 50. In fact, I’m pretty scared right now.

Patsy said she will return to the UK for the show, but will do much of her training in Malibu.
She said: ‘I’ll be back, but I’ll be training in Los Angeles, which is fantastic.
‘I’m not competitive, but this time I’m going to say let’s try to win it. I will concentrate on training and use meditation, and this will really test me.’
Speaking of his experience, he said: “The experience I’ve had with ice skating is going with my friends when we were kids, as one of the first things we were allowed to do without our parents.” We used to skate fast and crash into walls.
“It would be really cool to skate to songs that I love, but a lot of them are very upbeat and I don’t want to create a challenge for myself.”
Dancing on Ice returns Sunday January 15 at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
