‘Fans can focus on their skating!’ Ekin-Su Culculoglu ‘to cover up in a less daring costume’ for Dancing On Ice, after drawing 100 Ofcom complaints with ‘sexiest ever’ routine
Dancing On Ice’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu will reportedly cover up in a less daring costume while performing at the show on Sunday.
It has been claimed that the 28-year-old Love Island winner will wear a standard suit with long sleeves and a skirt so that viewers can focus on her performance.
Last week she donned a skimpy leotard and recreated the memorable scene from Love Island, where she dragged herself across the floor, prompting more than 100 Ofcom complaints from viewers who thought the routine was too risqué for the family-friendly series.
Demure: Dancing On Ice’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu will reportedly cover up in a less edgy costume while performing at Sunday’s show.
A source has now said Sun: ‘Ekin is a strong character and is fighting again. He has a lot more to give in the series and has been practicing a lot.
“Being in the bottom two is always difficult, but he hopes to survive another week.
“She’s proud of her curves, but is happy to wear a more covert costume so fans are less distracted and can focus on her skating.”
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Ekin-Su and ITV for comment.
Oh no: last week she donned a skimpy leotard, prompting more than 100 Ofcom complaints from viewers who thought the routine was too risqué for the family-friendly series.
Ekin-Su certainly brought some fire to the runway, stepping out in a nude mesh jumpsuit with spectacularly embellished detail.
The outfit was a recreation of the one Britney Spears wore in her Toxic music video, which the reality star was dancing to.
The former Love Island star recreated his famous crawling scene from the ITV2 show, with presenter Holly Willoughby calling the routine the show’s “sexiest dance of all time”.
Unhappy: The 28-year-old Love Island winner will now wear a standard costume with long sleeves and a skirt so viewers can focus on her performance, it has been claimed.
But it wasn’t so well received by everyone, as the show received 112 complaints from Ofcom after the routine, with the Turkish beauty finding itself with the fewest public votes.
The actress dragged herself across the ice during the performance, an ode to the famous Love Island scene in which she dragged herself across the villa’s terrace to kiss compatriot Jay Younger behind her partner Davide Sanclimenti’s back.
The sultry routine also saw her lie on her back and be swept into the arms of her partner Brendyn, complete with plenty of animated facial expressions.
Ekin-Su and professional skater Brendyn Hatfield were placed in the middle of the leaderboard by the judges, who gave a score of 21.5.
But while they agreed that the star certainly had sex appeal, they expected a bit more from the performance.
‘It was very sexy. But what I want most is skating,” Judge Jayne Torvill said. Ashley agreed as she said, “Skate on your own without holding on to Brendyn, show us what you can do.”

Many viewers also took to social media to call the routine “not appropriate” for the family-friendly show, which airs before the turning point.
But the performance was a hit with Ekin-Su’s boyfriend, Davide, who sat in the audience and joked that he “couldn’t wait” to take her home.
Later in the show, the public vote revealed that the Love Island star received the fewest public votes and will face a skating contest on the show this week, along with another star.
