Dancing on ice: Jayne Torvill to undergo surgery for biceps tendon damage
Dancing On Ice judge Jayne Torvill revealed during Sunday’s episode of the show that she had injured her arm while skating.
As prop week kicked off at the ITV ice skating competition, professional ice dancer Jayne, 65, was seen with her arm in a green sequined sling, which matched her dazzling dress.
Asked about the injury by host Phillip Schofield, 60, he said: “Speaking of things that go wrong on ice, I tore my biceps tendon so I’m going to need surgery.”
She added: “But I’m fine and I’ll be back on the ice soon.”
Jayne isn’t the only Dancing On Ice star to have sustained an injury: The famous contestants suffered a series of falls during rehearsals this week.

The contestants, including Carly Stenson, Nile Wilson and Mollie Gallagher, suffered falls on the ice while preparing for tonight’s show.
While no one sustained injuries that forced them to pull out of the show, a source told MailOnline they were all feeling the pressure to put in a strong performance with the semi-final approaching.
The source said: ‘There have been a lot of falls this week for celebrities. There have been no serious injuries, just a few bumps, but the pressure is mounting as everyone gets closer to the semi-final and final.
‘Everyone is determined to do their best.’
Doctors star Carley winced as she fell face down on the track with her partner Mark Hanretty falling with her.
At one point in rehearsals, Nile could be seen lying on his back as fellow pro skater Olivia Smart rushed over to check on him.
Meanwhile, Coronation Street star Mollie had to be rescued by her skating partner, Sylvain Longchambon, after she fell.
Before tonight’s show, the remaining contestants were Carley, Nile, Mollie, TOWIE star Joey Essex, singer Siva Kaneswaren and Drag Race star The Vivienne.

Siva said that if he makes it to the final, he hopes to do something special in memory of Tom by performing one of his songs.
He also talked about how he plans to invite Tom’s widow, Kelsey, and their two children.
