Dancing On Ice Final: Miles Nazaire suffers a dramatic fall during his romantic skate with partner Vanessa Bauer – before losing the crown to Ryan Thomas

Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire suffered a dramatic fall during the Dancing On Ice final before losing the crown to Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas.

Miles, 28, who admitted he signed up for the show because of his desire to be seen as ‘more than a Chelsea boy’, finished second in Sunday’s final alongside his partner Vanessa Bauer.

His romantic skate with partner Vanessa seemed like it would be a dream, but just seconds into the performance, Miles fell.

The reality star, who was favorite to win, slipped and fell on his bum as he turned a corner, before rolling over and getting up to continue skating.

After the routine, he told presenters Holly Willoughby and Steven Mulhern: “I feel bad because I let her down. It was a stupid mistake.’

Vanessa replied, “No, you’ve been great every week.”

Despite the fall, Miles got back up and completed the routine, scoring an impressive 38 from the judges – who said they were ‘heartbroken’ for him.

But the disappointment on his face was plain for all to see.

While he apologized profusely to Vanessa, the judges each gave him a 9.5 out of a possible ten.

Oti said: ‘I’m so heartbroken but it was so brilliant before the fall. Don’t let this discourage you.’

Ashley added, “Miles, I love you. I wanted to give you the 10 you deserve and how far you have come is worth a 10.

“You’ve been incredible and that’s life, so chin up.”

“You’ve skated this fifty times and it’s never happened,” Chris said. “It’s not how you fall, it’s how you get up.”

And Jane felt sorry: ‘It was a fluke, think of all the trouble in that.’

Actor Ryan was left ‘speechless’ after being announced as the winner of the 2024 series, beating Miles, and dedicating the trophy to injured Greg who missed the final.

He said: ‘I’m speechless, I can’t get over this. Greg, if you’re looking at this, this trophy is for you!’

Being the good sport, Miles told Ryan, “Good job, you deserve it, good job.”

Earlier in the show, Adele Roberts finished in third place after scoring a perfect 40 for her first skate. Ryan and Miles then performed the iconic bolero.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Torvill and Dean’s Bolero, so there was extra pressure on the two remaining finalists.

Miles and Vanessa were up first with the iconic performance, before Jayne described Ryan’s performance as ‘beautiful’, while Chris said he had ‘passion’ and the night was his.

The trio was due to be joined in the final by former Olympian Greg Rutherford, but he pulled out hours before Sunday’s show after suffering an injury.

Greg’s hopes of competing were shattered after he suffered a ‘significant’ injury on the morning of rehearsals.

He has since reached out to the three remaining finalists in a video he shared from his hospital bed, minutes before the show kicked off.

Greg Rutherford has spoken for the first time since pulling out of the Dancing On Ice final at the last minute.

Greg has been forced to leave the show hours before the live finale, his professional partner Vanessa James revealed in an Instagram post on Sunday

“Thank you so much for all the incredible messages,” he said. ‘I’m inundated, I didn’t expect as many lovely messages as I have received, thank you very much.

“But my message to the three incredible finalists is that you’ll be skating soon, and have a great night guys.

‘I have loved every minute of this journey with you. I’m devastated that I can’t be with you tonight, but it will be incredible to see what you do.

“I’ve loved seeing your whole showcase develop. It will be great.’

His professional partner Vanessa James confirmed his surprise departure in an Instagram post on Sunday, saying: ‘Unfortunately, Greg suffered a significant injury during rehearsals this morning and will not be able to perform tonight.

“We’re on our way to the hospital where Greg will be further examined and receive the treatment he needs.”
