Dancing On Ice’s Amber Davies admits she is still in touch with Love Island ex Kem Cetinay: ‘We were messaging a couple of weeks ago’

Love Island’s Amber Davies has revealed there are no hard feelings between herself and ex Kem Cetinay as they are still in touch.

The actress, 27, will take part in the new series of Dancing On Ice, which launches on Sunday, and revealed she turned to her ex-boyfriend for advice.

When she heard the news that she was joining the line-up for the skating show, she told MailOnline: ‘I called Kem when I got the gig and he said, ‘Oh my God, good luck. It is difficult.”

She added that the pair, who won the third series of Love Island before splitting four months later, are still very close, and admitted he had texted her advice.

The West End star said: ‘We messaged a few weeks ago, he just said don’t be a c**p!

She added that despite feeling the pressure, she plans to go further in the competition than Kem.

She said: ‘There’s nothing more motivating than your ex-boyfriend doing the show. I have to get past Kem, that’s the goal. I have to beat the ex!’

TV presenter Kem, 27, appeared on Dancing On Ice in 2018 and finished in fourth place with professional partner Alex Murphy.

Amber and Kem shot to fame in 2017 when they won the hit ITV2 dating show and scooped the whopping £50,000 prize, which they chose to share.

After her Love Island stint, Amber turned to musical theater and went from strength to strength after appearing in 9 to 5, Bring it on, Back to the future and Pretty Woman musicals.

And despite appearing on an episode of The Kardashians last month, after Kim Kardashian watched her performance in Back To The Future while traveling in London, Amber revealed how she thought her television career was over.

She said: ‘I thought it was TV life, that ship had sailed. I thought I would never do television again.

‘When Dancing on Ice approached me I thought: ‘Wow!’ I mean, it’s not a show about personality, it’s a skill. It was right up my street.

‘I thought it would be really nice if the audience saw me as I am now and not who I was when I was twenty years old, and see how I have grown and matured.

‘I’m a completely different person. I honestly thought this opportunity would never come, so I’m very grateful.”

Speaking about the process, Amber said she is determined to get it right and do it for the girls.

‘There hasn’t been a female winner for eleven years. Even if it’s not me, I hope there is a female winner this year (because) there hasn’t been one since 2013!

‘I have no idea why, but I really hope that the women come together this year and that at the end of the season someone will have the trophy in their hands.’

She added, “I would love it if it were me, but if it’s not then it’s someone else.”

Amber will join Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, boxer Ricky Hatton, Olympian Greg Rutherford, S Club singer Hannah Spearritt and Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi at the skating show.

As well as radio presenter and former Big Brother contestant Adele Roberts, actress and TV presenter Claire Sweeney, Olympic skier Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, comedian Lou Sanders, Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire and ex EastEnder Ricky Norwood.
