Dancing Gemini gets the green light to run in the Betfred Derby, as owner David Fish is ready to roll the dice on the colt after impressive gallop at Epsom

  • Dancing Gemini’s owner David Fish said he ‘went around Epsom beautifully’
  • The owners then decided to enter him in the Betfred Derby on June 1
  • The colt last finished second in the French 2,000 Guineas at Longchamp

Dancing Gemini has been given the green light to take part in the Betfred Derby after an impressive gallop at Epsom yesterday.

The colt, trained by Roger Teal, was last seen finishing second in the French 2,000 Guineas at Longchamp.

It was felt that he was an unlucky loser that day, given the foot movement he showed in the final furlong.

Dancing Gemini has never raced further than a mile, but owner-breeder David Fish is willing to roll the dice, saying: ‘We wanted to see if he could handle the track.

“It turned around beautifully, so that’s when we made the decision.”
