UFC president Dana White revealed that former United States President Donald Trump spoke to him ahead of Tuesday night’s presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The first presidential debate between Harris and Trump was marked by a lot of mudslinging, with the two candidates attacking each other’s records and taking time — for a while — to explain their policies.
White, who was promoting his ‘Contender Series’, was asked about the debate during a press conference.
“I didn’t see it, but I’ll tell you this. He called me an hour before the debate,” White revealed.
“I spoke to him when I came here, right as we were getting off the plane. I was in L.A. today. First of all, this is his second time debating. He’s been in a debate,” White said, referring to the first debate held over the summer between Trump and President Joe Biden.

According to White, Trump said he saw the debate as “a heavyweight fight”
“They didn’t like how the debate ended. They want to kick that guy in the ass. [Biden] out. He’s unfit to run, but he’s still the president of the United States. Now they’re bringing in someone who wasn’t elected to actually run.
“They only do it on ABC. It was three on one tonight. He was up against three on one. I don’t know how it went or what happened, but I know he took it seriously.
“He said, ‘I see this as a heavyweight fight. I don’t take anyone lightly.'”
When asked if he had given the former president any advice, White replied, “I keep that between him and me.”
Harris, who was elected vice president last summer and officially nominated by the Democratic Party, was declared the winner over Trump in the DailyMail.com debate poll after last night’s verbal battle.
After the debate, Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, announced that she would support Harris for the office.
It is not clear whether a debate will take place in the run-up to the November elections.
