Newcastle may have beaten Tottenham but Dan Burn is likely to have a sleepless night after chipping into his own net during the 2-1 win at St James’ Park.
Tottenham Hotspur will be frustrated after a defeat, but will play well for much of the match.
Alexander Isak secured victory in the closing stages with a simple tap-in, while the Magpies weathered the visitors’ onslaught in the second half.
Newcastle led through Harvey Barnes, but Tottenham levelled in comical circumstances.
Nick Pope wasted an effort from James Maddison, leaving Brennan Johnson to fire the ball across the goal.

Dan Burn helped Tottenham equalise on Sunday by firing the ball into his own net
Burn tried to clear the ball but failed to put it into his own goal.
Newcastle were even happier when their Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali made his first competitive appearance since being handed a ten-month ban for breaching betting rules, receiving a warm welcome from the home fans.
Newcastle now have seven points from their opening three games, while Tottenham are on four.
“Generally we didn’t expect to have too much possession,” Isak told Sky Sports. “We wanted to be dangerous on the counter-attack. It wasn’t the prettiest game from our side but we defended very well and scored twice, so that’s good.
“You have to be focused all the time. It’s easy to get frustrated. It was a tough match and tough for me – I wasn’t at my best.
‘Jacob Murphy gave a great assist, very unselfish, so it was just a case of being in the right place.’
Newcastle won the Premier League match but the defender had a moment to forget
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will regret the result but not the performance. His team were in complete control of the game for a long time, keeping Newcastle under control in their own half.
But because they missed chances, there was always the chance that the home team would use their speed up front to break out, and after a few warnings they did just that and took the points.
Isak hit the woodwork early in the game, with Newcastle taking an unexpected lead after 37 minutes.
Lloyd Kelly quickly threw the ball in and was able to deliver a low cross from the left. Barnes headed the ball beautifully into the far corner.
Spurs winger Wilson Odobert should have equalised when left unmarked at the far post but he fired his volley over the bar before the visitors equalised a few minutes later.
Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope failed to deal with James Maddison’s shot from the edge of the penalty area and passed the ball to Brennan Johnson, who had his effort deflected into his own net by Burn.
Tottenham continued to bombard Newcastle with goals, but it was the home side who scored the winner thanks to Joelinton’s vision and Murphy’s composure, who brought on Sweden international Isak.
