Damian Hurley has opened up about directing his mother Elizabeth in racy sex scenes for his directorial debut film, insisting it felt ‘normal’.
The film, titled Strictly Confidential, shows the actress, 58, getting very intimate with another woman.
But Damian, 21, has stated that he had no qualms about directing his mother in the steamy scenes, so much so that there were no intimacy coordinators on set.
The model emphasized that while it may seem “strange” to ordinary people, to those who grew up in the industry as the offspring of celebrities, it is routine.
Speak with The Sunday times Speaking about filming his mother’s racy scenes, he admitted: ‘I hate to say it felt completely normal. I don’t know what that says about us.
“I talked to a lot of my friends who are also second-generation parents in the industry. They say exactly the same thing: that things that may seem very strange and extraordinary to outsiders have simply grown up for us in everyday life.’

Damian added that there was no need for intimacy coordinators on set, claiming that “everyone felt very comfortable.”
He added that Elizabeth taught him about sex when he was “ridiculously young,” insisting it was a “beautiful and natural” act but forbidding him from watching violence in films.
The relationship between mother and son has raised eyebrows in the past, especially after Elizabeth revealed that the secret photographer behind her seemingly endless stream of bikini Instagram posts was Damian.
She made the revelation after uploading a series of sizzling holiday photos of herself braless and in a bikini for Valentine’s Day in 2018, but many were unsure how to take her confession, with several calling the relationship ‘weird’.
But Damian insisted he didn’t understand why people found it strange, stating: ‘It’s business. We don’t think about it beyond pointing, pressing, done, posting.’
Describing their relationship, he explained that the pair were more like “siblings” than parent and child because it was just the two of them when he was growing up, and admitted that their bond has become even more acute in recent years and has become more vital.
He added that they have “twin telepathy” to the extent that they can “carry on entire conversations just by nodding and shaking our heads,” saying they are “extremely similar and on the same page.”
Elizabeth, who shares Damian with ex Steve Bing, previously told Access Hollywood she felt “safe and cared for” while filming the movie.

The Austin Powers star explained that Damian made her feel comfortable on set and described it as “relaxing” to have someone behind the camera “looking out for her.”
Elizabeth explained, “It’s relaxing to know there’s someone behind the camera watching you. The things he scripted me to do weren’t necessarily things I’d always done a lot in films.
“But having him there made me feel safe and cared for, and I knew he would take care of me in (post-production).”
She added: “So actually it’s a bit liberating to work with your family. Maybe I’ll do it again.’
Damian agreed with his mother, telling the publication that he didn’t find the intimate scenes problematic, stressing that the short time frame for filming meant he couldn’t afford it.
He said: ‘We felt in our comfort zone, it’s very strange. I also think that when you’re in an independent film, you have 18 days to film, every second counts. You can’t sit around and think about scenes and think, “What if?”
He added that while people found him shooting his mother in skimpy outfits “controversial,” he didn’t see it that way.
He said: ‘Show business has been a fundamental part of my whole life. So it’s nothing for us. She takes my pictures, I take hers.’

The director has spoken People about the film earlier this year, revealing that Elizabeth had “promised” to star in his first picture years ago, and when it was greenlit, she “dropped everything” to participate.
The mystery drama follows Mia, played by CBBC star Georgia Lock, as she is drawn into a ‘world of sex, duplicity and betrayal’ as she tries to unravel the mystery surrounding her best friend Rebecca’s suicide.
The trailer shows Mia returning to the exotic Caribbean island where Rebecca died, and in addition to uncovering old passions, she vows to learn the truth about her friend’s death.
Strictly Confidential will be released in cinemas and on Prime Video on April 5.
