With just a few days to go until the Sunday 96th Academy Awardsthe show’s producers feel good about what they’ve put together.

The nominees are some of the best the Oscars have seen, including some real blockbusters like Oppenheimer and Barbie.

Ryan Gosling sings ‘I’m Just Ken’ during the show, co-hosting with stars such as Charlize Theron and Melissa McCarthy.

There will be a live orchestra in the theater.

And the always reliable one Jimmy Kimmel is back as host the procedure for the fourth time.

“We’re really excited about this year,” said Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney, who is serving as executive producer of the show for the fourth time.

‘It’s a phenomenal film year. And we have great films that audiences at home know, which makes our job easier.”

The producers were hired earlier than usualmeaning they’ve had more time to plan and study past Oscar broadcasts, to try to understand what works and what doesn’t.

One thing they learned is that when the audience laughs, the audience at home usually laughs too.

McNearney said they focus on jokes rather than big, well-produced comedy bits. Kimmel will do his 10 minute monologue to start the show and will be sprinkled throughout.

“I think a night that just makes people feel good is a win,” McNearney said.

“It’s our job as producers to make that good feeling happen quickly because it’s a long show and we want to make sure people stay the whole time.”

Another thing that works: when the speeches are good and people feel connected to the winners.
