Damar Hamlin’s rep blasts Twitter conspiracy theorists

A representative for Damar Hamlin mocked conspiracy theorists on Twitter by joking that the Buffalo Bills safety’s first public statement since his cardiac arrest on the field on January 2 was made in secret by a “clone.”

Hamlin recently released his first public statement since being revived in Cincinnati, thanking fans in an edited six-minute video posted online.

Skeptics have criticized Hamlin’s reluctance to appear publicly in the weeks since he was revived on the grass at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, with many suggesting his miraculous recovery may be a hoax. Hamlin appeared to address these concerns in the video, explaining that he needed time to process his near-death experience before surfacing.

Regardless, a conspiracy theorist questioned the veracity of Hamlin’s video, only to be shut down by the player’s NFL representative, Jordon Rooney.

A representative for Damar Hamlin mocked conspiracy theorists on Twitter by joking that the Buffalo Bills safety’s first public statement since his cardiac arrest on the field on January 2 was made in secret by a “clone.”

‘For a ‘full’ video, wrote one skeptical commenter, ‘it sure is spliced.’

Rooney responded with his own tweet.

“Possible explanations for why the video was spliced,” Rooney began.

‘A) Damar had 100 people to thank and stopped several times to make sure to name everyone.

‘B) It is fake and/or it is a clone.’

Rooney ended his post by asking the conspiracy-minded commenter “which one do you think might be true?”

Another Twitter user asked Rooney why he would entertain conspiracy theorists.

“To be honest there are a lot of older people who don’t understand social media who have followed me because Damar says if I don’t own the narrative people will believe whatever,” he wrote. ‘I hear you though lol.’

Hamlin addressed conspiracy theories related to cardiac arrest following his first public appearance in Buffalo’s recent playoff loss to the Bengals in Orchard Park, New York, on January 22.

Appearing from a luxury suite atop Highmark Stadium, Hamlin was seen at the scoreboard making a “heart” sign with his hands as he received a standing ovation from Bills fans.

However, the conspiracy theorists on Twitter simply didn’t believe Hamlin was there. Therefore, Hamlin responded with a cryptic message on Twitter, mocking skeptics of him, many of whom tweeted that he was being played by a “body double.”

Hamlin posted a photo of himself standing in front of a recently completed mural of his likeness, writing: ‘Clone’.

said a source TMZ that the accusations were false. However, Bills center Mitch Morse was quick to shut down those fabrications as well, as he explained that Hamlin is a naturally reserved person.

“Just his presence, I think it says a lot,” Morse told ESPN. ‘[…] He’s not much of a rah-rah guy and I’m sure at some point he’s a little tired of people asking how he’s doing or being put in a position he didn’t ask to be put in. His mere presence, his smile, his positive energy, which he has always had, always injects energy and good vibes into the group.’

Conspiracy theorists have used Hamlin’s reluctance to give interviews to the media as a reason for their beliefs. Many seem to believe that his heart attack was somehow caused by the COVID-19 vaccine, which they erroneously claim was required for NFL players.

NFL players weren’t required to get vaccinated, though those who weren’t faced stricter COVID-19 protocols. The league has claimed it wanted to order the vaccine, but the players’ union turned it down.

Hamlin is still reeling from the horrific collapse against the Bengals on Monday Night Football in Week 17, in which he had to be resuscitated after nearly dying on the turf at Paycor Stadium.

Rooney, Hamlin’s marketing representative, revealed that the Bills player “still needs oxygen and has his heart checked regularly to make sure there are no hiccups or side effects.”

“Although he is able to visit team facilities, Damar is not in a condition to travel frequently and requires extra rest to help his body heal.”

It’s unclear if the safety will ever return to the NFL. .
