Damage control? Disgraced Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, 36, hugs grandson at event after he was caught on camera groping lover at Colorado theater

Disgraced Republican Lauren Boebert was seen hugging her six-month-old grandson at an event in Colorado over the weekend in an effort to ease attacks on her and portray her as a woman who upholds “family values.”

It marks a rare public appearance by the Colorado congresswoman who was forced to apologize last month for her behavior at a Denver theater when she was kicked out after groping date Quinn Gallagher during a Beetlejuice performance.

Boebert, who finalized the end of her 17-year marriage earlier in October, shocked conservative colleagues when it emerged she had openly groped Gallagher during the family show before abusing staff when she was asked to leave.

But on Saturday, the US representative, who became a grandmother earlier this year at the age of 36, was spotted in Towaoc, Colorado with little Josiah Boebert who was born in the spring.

Boebert spoke at the Montezuma County Lincoln Day Dinner at the Ute Mountain Casino Hotel.

“If this is a personal night out, I hope you will accept my sincere apology,” Boebert told attendees at the event at the Ute Mountain Casino in Towaoc.

‘In everything I do, I want to show you honor, because that is what you deserve. And I am so grateful for the grace and mercy that you have all shown me.”

Boebert’s apology drew applause from the audience. The incident threatens to become a potential roadblock in her bid to become part of the conservative future she touted to voters at the event.

After a razor-thin loss in the 2022 elections, Democrats now believe they can take back Colorado’s third congressional district in the 2024 elections.

The extent to which Boebert’s scandal will actually sway voters remains to be seen.

In addition to her apology, Boebert spoke about her work in ousting former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and helping appoint Mike Johnson in his place, whom she described as a “great man.”

“The way everything has unfolded in Washington DC over the past few weeks has led to a better outcome than any of us could have ever imagined,” Boebert said. “Apparently I’m a leadership shill these days.”

Boebert initially blamed opponents for a political agenda when reports of her behavior at the Denver theater emerged, and insisted that Gallagher would not be given another date after discovering his political affiliation as a Democrat.

“I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: On her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) said campaign manager Drew Sexton.

But the mother-of-four apologized after security footage emerged to support claims she had vaped and grabbed her date’s crotch as he fondled her breasts in front of the shocked audience.

She also gave the security staff the finger as they tried to escort her out and asked someone, “Do you know who I am?” when she was thrown out onto the street.

Surveillance footage shows Boebert, wearing a tight, low-cut gold dress and high heels, making a fuss as she and Gallagher left – taking a selfie as she left the venue and angrily baring her teeth at staff.

“The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I am truly sorry,” she wrote in a statement.

“There is no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce, which has created a challenging personal time for me and my entire family over the past few months.”

Boebert’s divorce from Jason, 36, her husband of 18 years and father of her four children, is still ongoing following the couple’s shocking split in May.

Boerbert insisted at the time that she had been faithful throughout her marriage.

In her statement, the second-year congresswoman said, “It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband.

“I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, who all deserve privacy and love as we work through this process.

“I have always been faithful in my marriage and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement all the more difficult.”
