Dallas Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb ‘is expected to hold out of training camp as QB Dak Prescott eyes record $70m-a-year deal’

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to be without one of their top players for the start of training camp in CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb will not be on the field in Oxnard, California, as he has yet to receive a lucrative contract extension during the offseason.

The Cowboys’ star wide receiver is entering the final year of his contract, which pays him just under $18 million.

Lamb led the NFC with 1,749 receiving yards last season, just 50 shy of leader Tyreek Hill.

The former Oklahoma Sooner also led the NFL with 135 receptions, 16 more than Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who finished in second place.

Lamb is not expected to attend the Cowboys’ training camp as he hopes for a new contract

The news that Lamb has not enrolled only adds to the Cowboys’ woes as the pressure to win shows no sign of abating.

Star quarterback Dak Prescott is in the final year of his contract, and he expects to command as much as $70 million per year under his new deal. according to Heavy.com.

All that money was earned because the Cowboys never advanced past the Divisional round of the playoffs.

Lamb was part of the 2020 deep wide receiver draft, along with Justin Jefferson and Brandon Aiyuk.

All three receivers have openly stated they want a big raise this offseason, with only Jefferson getting one of the three.

Aiyuk reportedly requested a transfer last week, but is expected to be at the San Francisco 49ers’ training camp.

The Cowboys went 12-5 last season, but were defeated in the Wild Card round by the Green Bay Packers.
