Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Sophy Laufer details the extensive makeup routine she uses to achieve FLAWLESS glam for every performance – and how to ensure it stays perfect all game long
Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Sophy Laufer has revealed exactly how she creates her perfect, all-over glam look for practice and beyond. And some of the products she uses aren’t expensive, either.
Laufer has been part of the 36-member cheerleading squad since 2022, a team that has been in the news in recent weeks following the June premiere of their juicy new Netflix docuseries, America’s Sweethearts.
The seven-episode series documents the audition process and the 2023 season, providing a deeper look into what it really takes to join this iconic Texas team.
The gripping series also revealed all sorts of secrets about the ins and outs of their daily lives, including the fact that cheerleaders apply their own makeup for game days.
And to practice, they often put on a glamorous face, a skill Laufer has fully mastered.

But even if you don’t attend the DCC practice like Laufer, you can still get the look, as she walked viewers through her glam in an in-depth tutorial recently posted to her website. TikTok page.
To kick off her flawless makeup routine, Laufer revealed that she uses the $14 Halo Glow Liquid Filter Complexion Booster on her forehead, chin and cheeks.
She prefers to use a drugstore product instead of a primer, the DCC star explains.
“I don’t use a primer, I’ve tried several, but I feel like they don’t do anything,” she explains.
“I normally do my makeup quickly, so if I feel like a step isn’t really helping, I’d rather not do it,” Laufer says.
After applying the elf Halo Glow to her face, she blended it in with a makeup sponge and applied some Makeup By Mario concealer ($29) under her eyes and forehead.
“I love this concealer. It’s super creamy and has great coverage, but it’s not too cakey,” she said.
“I just dab it in and don’t blend it too much. Since I’m going to apply foundation over it, it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t blend too well because the foundation will blend everything.”
“I don’t use a primer, I’ve tried different ones and I feel like they don’t do anything,” Laufer revealed in the clip

Laufer said she uses the $69 Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation to even out her complexion. It’s a favorite product that’s been in her makeup bag for years.
“I love this foundation and it’s really nice if you’re not super oily. It gives you a little bit of a glowy finish but I find it very skin-like but it also has good coverage,” she shared.
And the foundation is not only a success with Laufer, because her mother and sister also use it.
To start contouring, the cheerleader reached for Patrick Ta’s Major Sculpt Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo in the shade She’s Sculpted for $40 and went for the creamy side, applying it to her cheekbones with a large, fluffy brush.
She also put a little on the side of her forehead, explaining that she always uses a large brush because it helps the product sink in and doesn’t slide off.
Then it was time to apply Makeup by Mario concealer to accentuate a few spots on the face, like the cupid’s bow and between the eyebrows.
Laufer also puts it on her nose, which tends to get red, the cheerleader explained, while also spilling a DCC secret.
“Another tip: I apply creams very lightly and carefully, because you can always add more. Also, I find that applying several thin layers gives a more natural and perfect result than applying one huge, thick, cakey layer,” Laufer pointed out.
Two of Laufer’s favorite products were the $40 Major Sculpt Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo from Patrick Ta in the shade She’s Sculpted and the $69 Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation
Laufer made sure to apply a little bronzer to the side of her forehead, explaining that she always likes to use a large brush because it helps the product settle into the skin and prevent any slippage.
“Another tip: I’m also very light and careful when I apply my creams because you can always add more,” she shared.
To finish off the eye contour, she applied a little of the $38 Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder in Pound Cake under her eyes with a powder puff.
Laufer doesn’t waste product, though, so she uses the leftovers from her powder puff and spreads them over the rest of her face to set her cream makeup.
Before applying her shimmering eyeshadow—which she’ll be showing in a separate tutorial—she applies another layer of setting powder, which she “bakes” to give the skin under her eyes a “lifted” effect.
“That’s also when I bring a lot of powder, and if I have a pimple or a red spot, I’ll add extra powder,” Laufer says.
“It will make you look a little crazy, but I promise you this is my best trick for covering imperfections because this powder sets and sets the imperfections.”
Once her face is sufficiently “baked,” she scoops a little Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder ($48) onto a brush and applies the Huda Beauty powder.
The next step was to add a little extra colour by applying a darker shade of Charlotte Tilbury powder to her cheeks and face, then contouring with the powder side of her Patrick Ta palette.
To contour her nose, she uses a small brush to apply some Benefit Cosmetics $36 Hoola Bronzer under the tip and sides of her nose. She then finishes with a bit of concealer on the tip and bridge.
To finally get those signature pink-nude DCC lips, she used a swipe of the $38 Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the shade Wedding Belles

“In between steps, I use my fluffy powder brush to blend everything,” she revealed.
“I think the more your hair is blended, the better and more natural and perfect your end result will look,” the veteran cheerleader added.
To complete the look, she applied a little of the $25 Anastasia Brow Wiz brow pencil to her eyes, followed by a few swipes of Benefit Cosmetics Highlighter in Cookie, $35, and Dior Blush in Rosy Glow, $40, to the apples of her cheeks.
To create DCC’s signature pink-nude lips, she used the $24 Makeup Forever lip liner in Wherever Walnut — another Cope favorite — and a swipe of the $38 Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Wedding Belles.
And to make sure everything looked perfect, she added a quick spritz of the $32 ONE/SIZE waterproof setting spray as an added step, a recommendation DCC makeup artist Madeline Cope recently shared with DailyMail.com.
The team’s makeup artist also gave her own tips on how to create a flawless, glamorous look at home in a recent interview with DailyMail.com
It’s definitely more of a glamorous [look] “But it’s also about finding the balance for your face, wearing lashes that accentuate your eyes but don’t stand out too much,” she explains.
