The disappearance of Shere Hite made its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
Serving as executive producer and the voice of Shere Hite on the documentary, Dakota Johnson, 33, was among the cast and crew on hand to lead their support Thursday, which began with a walk down the red carpet.
The film centers on the renowned sex researcher and author of The Hite Report, the mega-bestseller published in 1976 that “unleashed the female orgasm by revealing the most private experiences of thousands of anonymous respondents,” according to Deadline.

Johnson opted to keep it casual and modern in the fashion department dressed in baggy pleated blue jeans that she tucked into a pair of black boots.
Her shiny boots actually reached just past the middle of her calves.
The Austin, Texas native also wore a long-sleeved black top that she tucked into blue jeans, which she kept fastened with the help of her BKE Basic CG buckled belt.
With temperatures ranging from single digits to a high of 22 degrees Fahrenheit, the actress covered up in a patterned black jacket with white trim along the shoulders.

TeaTime Pictures Crew: Johnson serves as the voice of Shere Hite in the documentary and executive produces alongside her TeaTime Pictures producing partner, Ro Donnelly.
At one point during the photo festival, Johnson met up with his producing partner at TeaTime Pictures, Ro Donnelly, who showed off his fashion sense in a blue jean patterned shirt and pants combo.
The former Netflix development executive also wore a burgundy furry beanie over her long dark locks that flowed past her shoulders.
Moments later, the documentary’s director, Nicole Newnham, joined Johnson on the red carpet.
The Oscar-nominated director of Crip Camp (2020) struck a few poses dressed in black leather pants and matching boots and a sweater over a white shirt that might hang a few inches.

Hite, who passed away at the age of 77 in 2020, spent the last decades of his life living in Europe, after coming under relentless attack from conservatives in the US. He opened a dialogue in popular culture around to the pleasure of the woman.’
During that time, in the wake of each subsequent blockbuster, Hite also engaged in explicit discussions of sexuality, while suffering backlash from his controversial findings.

Dakota’s outing comes after he made a joke about the Armie Hammer cannibalism scandal while speaking at a dinner to kick off the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The actress spoke at the A Taste of Sundance dinner at The Basin Recreation Fieldhouse and presented the Luca Guadagnino Institute Sundance International Icon Award, after working with him on such films as A Bigger Splash and Suspiria.
Johnson joked that the acclaimed director had tried to cast her as the peach in the acclaimed film Call Me by Your Name.
In the film, the character played by Timothee Chalamet performed a sexual act on a peach, after which Hammer’s character ate it.
“Luca had asked me to play the part of the peach, but our schedules conflicted. Thank goodness, because then it would have been another woman Armie Hammer tried to eat!”
