The 34-year-old actress, wearing a little black dress, was asked by Jimmy, 49, about a December 2023 story in The Wall Street Journal headlined “Dakota Johnson likes to sleep 14 hours a night.”
‘The Wall Street Journal. That’s a long time to sleep,” Jimmy said.
“I didn’t even say it like that,” Dakota said.
‘That’s a long time. Do you like sleeping 14 hours?,” said Jimmy.
Dakota Johnson corrected reports that she insists on getting 14 hours of sleep Monday while promoting Madame Web on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC
‘No. I said I could easily sleep 14 hours. But I don’t like to demand it. I’m not a monster,” Dakota said, laughing.
Jimmy explained how other outlets picked up the story, including Page Six and USA Today, and how it started a whole discussion about the right amount of sleep.
‘Why is sleeping bad? Why? Leave me alone,” Dakota said, laughing. “I’m just sleeping.”
Jimmy agreed that 14 hours of sleep would be fantastic.
“I don’t have to bring anything to sleep like this, I can just sleep like this,” Dakota said.
“I think if I acted like an Ambien, I think I’d wake up next year,” she joked.
Dakota said WJ in December that sleep is her “number one priority” and that she also relies on meditation to manage anxiety.
She said, “I don’t have a set time to wake up. It depends on what’s happening in my life. If I don’t work, if I have a day off on Monday, I sleep as long as I can. Sleep is my first priority in life.’

She plays Cassandra “Cassie” Webb, aka Madame Web, in the film that also stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced and Tahar Rahim.

Madame Web is scheduled for February 14.
