She joked: ‘Now I have great linens. That doesn’t mean I’ve become at**t. I have good food. Who would I want to impress by eating bad food? I still do things that are considered working class, like I prefer caravan holidays so the kids are entertained. If we went to Soho Farmhouse they would be bored. You pick and choose.”

Daisy also revealed that she had tried to own a Range Rover even though she can’t drive, joking that she bought it for £90,000 cash and lost £40,000 when she sold it.

This Country first aired on BBC Three in February 2017. The mockumentary followed cousins Kerry and Kurtain Mucklowe in a run-down town in the Cotswolds as they caused trouble while out of work.

Daisy said of Lorraine in 2020: ‘It was such a bleak time. I just left drama school, got nothing, had to move back in with my parents and clean at night.

‘I think I was getting about £100 a month and while we were cleaning we came up with these characters and said, ‘We’ve got to write something.’

“Because humor was the only thing that got us through such a depressing time.”

However, their efforts paid off when Charlie and Daisy’s comedy series became a huge success.

And they made it a family affair; casting their father Paul as Martin Mucklowe in the show, Kerry’s father and Kurtain’s uncle.

Trevor Cooper, Daisy and Charlie’s uncle, also stars in the show as local antagonist Len Clifton.
