Daisy Edgar-Jones ruffles fans’ feathers as she declares her love for chickens while playing with them in a cute clip – days after wolfing down wings on Hot Ones

Daisy Edgar-Jones has angered her fans by declaring she ‘really loves chicken’, just days after devouring a pair of chicken wings on First We Feast’s Hot Ones.

The 26-year-old Normal People actress posed with the animals during a visit to Spitalfields City Farm in London on Thursday.

She was interviewed by Buzzfeed for their YouTube channelas she put on a lively show, talking enthusiastically about the animals and playfully feeding them.

The Twisters star posted a bunch of snaps and videos on Instagram from her recent trip and wrote in the caption: ‘I met some chickens with @buzzfeeduk

“If you didn’t know this about me, I really like chickens. I also heard that my celebrity lookalike is Ginger from Chicken Run, which I take as a compliment.”

When asked during the interview why she loves the animals so much, Daisy replied: ‘I love that their legs are so thin and their bodies are so big.

“I just think they’re the funniest animal. You can move them and their heads stay straight.”

This comes after Daisy made headlines in 2022 with her very unique egg-patterned shoes.

At the premiere of her comedy thriller Fresh, the star wore a pair of £1,200 Loewe heels, which were designed to look like the stilettos were cracking open an egg, causing the yolk to spill out onto the floor.

But now, after reminding her fans of her love for poultry with her latest social media post, the actress is facing some backlash.

The comments on Daisy’s Instagram are filled with disappointment from followers who point out that she is showing her fondness for the animals just days after eating them on camera.

Angry viewers wrote: ‘Oh Daisy, I love you… but… you don’t eat the ones you ‘love’. I beg you to consider the cognitive dissonance here… I had to do it, and I am better and happier for it! And so is the planet (little by little).’

“That’s really strange, because you ate chicken wings a few days ago.”

Daisy appeared on US YouTube channel Hot Ones on Tuesday alongside her co-star Glen Powell, 35, to promote their new film Twisters

But now, after reminding her fans of her love for poultry again with her latest social media post, the actress is facing some backlash

‘Surely celebs would do anything to promote a movie? Here she is claiming she ‘loves’ chickens when just a few days ago she gruesomely devoured them in hot chicken… absolutely no moral compass, you belong on the streets #donteatanimals #bekindtoanimals.’

‘Maybe you just don’t eat them then?’

“This is completely outdated. Don’t eat chicken wings and then say you like chicken, because you don’t.”

‘You like chickens, but you also enjoy eating them. How does that work?’

‘Too bad some of the messages before this are so hot.’

“The contradiction between you eating chicken wings on @hotones a few days ago is crazy to me. You can’t say you like chicken days after being on Hot Ones. Sorry Daisy, I love you but that’s a no for me.”

Not everyone was angry, however, and some fans were able to find humor in the situation. They wrote:

“You can love animals and still… eat chicken, guys… OMG.”

Daisy and Glen star in the highly anticipated sequel to the 1996 disaster thriller Twister, starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt

‘After posting such nice messages, I had to laugh so much.’

“In the ‘Chicken Run’ universe, you’d be Tweedy-Fry, you eat them!”
