Daddy Yankee has alleged that his estranged wife Mireddys González withdrew $100 million from two of his music companies without his permission.
The reggaetón artist, 47, said in legal documents filed in his native San Juan, Puerto Rico, that González received the respective amounts of $80 million and $20 million from El Cartel Records and Los Cangris.
The Gasolina singer said this in legal documents filed and reviewed by Friday Billboard that the withdrawal from Los Cangris was in direct conflict with “warnings received and express requests to put an end to any management and initiative that would endanger the company’s finances.”
The Grammy-nominated rapper, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, described the transaction as “desperate” and part of a larger pattern of González’s financial misconduct in concert with her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos.
“It now becomes clear why she wanted to keep him in the dark and deny him information about the withdrawals and money movements she and her sister are making behind his back,” Daddy Yankee’s legal team told the court.
The Despacito artist leveled the allegations against his former wife, her sister and El Cartel Records in a pair of court orders filed Friday.

Daddy Yankee founded El Cartel Records, appointing González as CEO, while her sibling has served as secretary-treasurer.
Daddy Yankee said he currently has “no access, interference and information” over the musical subsidiary he founded and is “entitled to.”
Daddy Yankee requested that the court immediately revoke all administrative powers for González and González Castellanos involving El Cartel Records.
He also asks the court to compel González and González Castellanos “to provide the information and documentation they unlawfully withheld” during their business dealings.
Daddy Yankee said the actions of González and González Castellanos “resulted in a damaging and negligent performance for the company” in their efforts to consolidate their power.
González and González Castellanos’ failed to provide an accurate account of their actions and ignored the formalities and requirements of corporate law [and made] “irresponsible financial decisions” during their tenure at the record company, Daddy Yankee said in court documents.
Daddy Yankee told the court that González oversaw a transaction conducted by a third party in October that sold the rights to his material to Concord for a sum of $217 million that he found “unreasonable, disproportionate and far below actual value’.
Daddy Yankee said that González deliberately withheld information from him and that he “was not provided with a copy of all contract documents, and to this day he does not know the true size of the transaction nor does he have detailed knowledge of what had happened” . or was not sold, nor the restrictions he has on the use of his musical creations.’

Daddy Yankee said in legal documents that he “signed the agreement upon the advice of that third party and the Defendants.”
Daddy Yankee told the court that González and González Castellanos withdrew the $100 million total after he stripped them of all decision-making powers for El Cartel Records and “warned that they could not conduct any transaction on behalf of” the company.
Daddy Yankee’s lawyers said an “illegal wire transfer was made,” with “eighty million dollars withdrawn from the entity’s operating account” in the first of two transactions.
The couple announced their split earlier this month, as he commented on the split on Instagram Stories on December 2.
“With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share important news about my personal life,” he said. “After more than twenty years of marriage and after many months of trying to save the marriage that my wife and I share, my lawyers today responded to the divorce petition received by Mireddys.”
The estranged couple, who married in 1995, have daughter Jesaaelys, 28, and son Jeremy, 26, while he is also father to daughter Yamilet from a previous romance.
Speaking to Billboard in 2021, Daddy Yankee said of his wife’s involvement in their business, “She’s the boss. She’s always been the boss.’
