A father of three has shared an ingenious Ziploc bag hack that can save you money by making each box last twice as long.
Dustin Hadley, also known by his username that40yearguy, shared the little-known tip on his popular TikTok channel, which is dedicated to coming up with clever ideas to make his fans’ lives a little easier.
Hadley, who has four million followers, demonstrated how people can cut a Ziploc bag in half using a sharp knife heated over an open flame.
The heat ensures that the edges are properly sealed, giving you two smaller bags for the price of one.
“Make your own snack bags for kids or smaller portions,” the video caption added.

A third said: ‘Dang why didn’t I think of that and complain about not having the right size bags and so much waste.’
However, experts warned that heating a knife over an open flame could risk damaging the utensil. Parade reported – so don’t use an expensive one.
Hadley also shared several other tips in the same video.
One hack demonstrated how to wrap a gift with wrapping paper that has been cut too small.
“I usually cut a whole new piece for me or cut off a little piece that I taped down where I didn’t cut it properly,” he said before trying the hack.
But by turning the gift and placing it diagonally on the paper, it can stretch a little further.

Another hack shows you how to easily unwrap a lollipop.
Hadley begins by saying, “I love a lollipop and one thing I don’t understand is why the wrappers are so hard to come off.”
He then shows you how to grab the top of the lollipop and the bottom of the wrapper before twisting it back and forth to release it.
His final tip showed how to bring a helium balloon back down after it’s stuck to the ceiling: just spray it with water.
