The exhausted boy – from Shenzhen city, Guangdong province, China – said his father began the punishment when he found him gaming at 1am.
Instead of confiscating the phone, the father – referred to as Mr. Huang in the local media – pulled him out of bed and forced him to play for 17 hours.
The harrowing images show how the boy in his pajamas is shaken awake to continue playing, even as he sinks into his chair.
In a heartfelt letter, the boy wrote, “So my father found out. Then my father punished me.

His father filmed the lesson and shared it on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok – claiming he only did it as a last resort and dissuaded other parents.
