Declyn ‘Dex’ Lauper, 24, was seen quietly out of Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday after accepting a plea deal.
The rapper agreed to serve private community service for five days and be a law-abiding citizen for a year.
The offspring of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun originally faced a year in prison after he was caught idling in a 2014 Mercedes in New York City on July 9.
“It’s definitely a blessing that the case is over,” Lauper – the son of singer Cyndi Lauper and actor David Thornton – told the After.
The rapper, who wore his hair in small braids and oversized sunglasses, wasted no time lighting a joint as he stepped outside the courtroom into a darkened, chauffeured SUV.

He posted a video of him surrounded by smoke in his car, with the simple caption: ‘Court’
Among his entourage, he immediately started smoking marijuana – which is legal in NYC – and celebrated his freedom with his friends.
He also posted the moment to his Instagram story, showing clouds of smoke filling the car and simply captioning the post, “Court.”
The rapper also kept his New York chic look by donning an oversized black blazer, black jeans with a hole in the knee, a white button-down and black tennis shoes.
The smartly dressed man had originally told police he was in someone else’s car in July and reportedly told police, “You probably know who I am.”
Police apparently checked the car’s license plates and said from the records they belonged to another car.
When the VIN number was checked, the luxury vehicle was found to have been stolen two years ago.
He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen goods in the fifth degree.
Declyn is the only child of the Grammy winner and bragged to the Post that he and his mother recorded a few songs together.
